Bible reading Sunday: LIGHT: It’s Sunday which means it’s time to unveil our new theme for the upcoming week! This week we will focus on the concept of Light and gaining wisdom. Our passage is John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
These words are very apt to take comfort in as we begin the new road map to exit from lockdown measures. To those returning to school, work or to those sending children back to school; take comfort in knowing that Jesus will light the way. To all facing uncertainty, Jesus will show you the way when you are ready and the time is right. What an incredible guidance and love we are blessed with #nctmlent21 #lent
LIGHT: Happy Media Monday everyone! Our theme this week is ‘Light’ and ‘Finding the Way’. Feel free to send us your pictures or videos for what light represents for you. We love to see them and share them with our ever growing congregation! This picture was taken shortly after sunrise during a trip to the Sahara Desert. The Light of God shows us the way so perfectly wherever we tread #nctmlent21 #lent
LIGHT: Tune Tuesday today brings us a campfire version of Rend Collective’s song “My Lighthouse”. It is such a beautiful song full of hope and faith in God’s ability to be our guiding light. The lyrics to the chorus are as follows
“My lighthouse, my lighthouse
Shining in the darkness, I will follow You
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
I will trust the promise
You will carry me safe to shore”
These words represent how God can show us the light even in the darkest of storms, how he assists us in seeing the obstacles in our way so we have the chance to find a smoother way back to the safety of land #nctmlent21 #lent
LIGHT: Wild Wednesday! When it gets dark, see if you can spot the stars and the moon above you. Choose a clear night and count how many stars you can see. There is always a light even when it is not visible to us, hidden behind clouds of doubt or fear. We always know that the stars are there just as we always know that God is present in our lives #nctmlent21 #lent
LIGHT: It’s Craft Thursday today! One big light in life for many people is their Mother figure. As Mothering Sunday approaches, we have a special craft for you to try out in honour of your Mum or any important mother figure to you. You will need: empty toilet roll, scissors, a piece of card, pens/paints and a glue stick
Step 1: Squash the toilet roll flat with your hand
Step 2: cut 7 even strips along the toilet roll (ask an adult for help with scissors!)
Step 3: check that you have 7 strips - or more if you desire (you may need another toilet roll!)
Step 4: colour in 5 of these in a pretty flower petal colour, and the remaining 2 in a leafy green (you can use paint or pens for this - we left the inside blank but you can colour this in too!)
Step 5: arrange your 5 petals in a circle at the top of your card, and the other two further down (see picture). Take a green pen and draw the stem down from the petals to the bottom of the page
Step 6: use glue to stick the petals and leaves down in line with the stem
Step 7: use a pen to add details to the leaves and the centre of the flower
Now you have a beautiful Mothering Sunday flower! Feel free to be creative and add more decorations and details - we would love to see your designs! #nctmlent21 #lent

LIGHT: For Food Friday this week we have a recipe for some Sunshine Lemon Biscuits to brighten your day! We hope you enjoy having a go at making these - do send us pictures of how they turn out! #nctmlent21 #lent
LIGHT: It’s social Saturday! Today we invite you to play with light to create shadow puppets. You can use the sunlight, a lamp or a torch to create some marvellous shadows. Our best attempt was the shadow of Yoda (for all you Star Wars fans!) Show us what you can create and see how much fun can be had when you are in the presence of light #nctmlent21 #lent
