GLENFALL HOUSE
Next year is an important year in the life of Glenfall House. 2012 marks 20
years since the opening of Glenfall House as the Diocesan Retreat & Conference
Centre. To mark the occasion there are two major events happening.
The first is a 24 hour prayer vigil to give thanks for all that has been and
to offer all that will be. The vigil begins at 8.30am on Thursday 5 January,
and will finish with the Eucharist followed by breakfast on the Feast of the
Epiphany at 8am on 6 January. The House and chapel will be available for
prayer throughout the 24 hour period, with more formal prayers on the hour every
hour in the chapel. Please do join us at the House if you can, or if you are
unable to be with us, please mark this period as a time of prayer for the mission
and ministry of the House wherever you are.
Then June 22-24 marks a weekend of celebrations, including an open day
and barbecue on the Saturday. On the Sunday (24) parishes and church groups
are invited to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the House and gardens before the
Bishop of Gloucester presides at the Eucharist at 3pm. We do hope that as many
of you as can will be able to join us the celebrate all that Glenfall means in the
life of the Diocese.
Our regular programme of events and quiet days is now available. You can
download it from the website
www.glenfallhouse.org or call the office (583654)

We are getting desperately short of helpers to act as Stewards in the church on
Saturday mornings. All Saints’ has an obligation to English Heritage to open the
church in recognition of the generous funding which they provided for the new roof.
The only requirement is to volunteer your time on a Saturday morning once a month
between 1030 and 1200 in order to be in the church with another helper and to
welcome any visitors who might come in, and to make coffee or tea for any members of
the congregation who drop in on a regular basis. If you are interested and would
like further information please contact Anne Giles.
We look forward to welcoming you to the team.

NOTICES FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING 15 APRIL 2012
FROM FR DAVID & SARAH
Dear friends, Sarah and I just wanted to thank you all for your kindness and
support over the nearly four years we've been with you, and especially these last
few weeks. It has been a joy to share Christ's passion and resurrection one last
time. By the time you read this, we will be safely installed in our new vicarage in
Richmond; and we hope to have unpacked and started using the many gifts you so
generously gave us. We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it to my
licensing on 30th April, and any others at any time you're ever in Richmond. May God
continue to bless and guide you in all you do. Sarah & David
MANY THANKS to all who provided cakes for David & Sarah’s party – it was a
lovely occasion! Heartfelt appreciation also for the work done by the ‘Clear-up
Crew’. Janet Ford

ST. LAWRENCE'S BEETLE DRIVE.
The Beetle Drive and supper last weekend went well, raising £230 for St.
Lawrence's Restoration Appeal and providing a fun evening out for about 45 people.
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to supply food, the
washer-uppers, and Debbie and Sally for running the bar, and to everyone who came
along. We need to spread the word about Beetle Drives; there's still a misconception
that it's some sort of car rally! Karen Evans
